Language Line Services Names Scott W. Klein President and Chief Executive Officer
MONTEREY, Calif., June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Language Line Services announced the appointment of Scott W. Klein as President and Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Klein, 54 also becomes a member of the Language Line Services Board of Directors. Louis Provenzano, who has served as President and CEO since 2010, has resigned.

Klein has had a varied career leading businesses in many industries including consumer packaged goods, building products, technology products, consumer electronics, business services, market research and media. Most recently he led the successful effort to create a new strategy as well as the financial restructuring efforts at Verizon spin-off Idearc Media later rebranded as SuperMedia. Prior to that, Klein was an operating partner at Symphony Technology group, a private equity investment firm. Previously, as President and CEO for four years, he led the successful turnaround of Symphony's flagship acquisition, Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), a global provider of real-time market information solutions, analytics and performance management technology.
Before that, Klein was President of the Consumer Industries, Retail & Energy business for Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Prior to EDS, Klein was president of PC Mall, Inc., a California-based Internet, telesales and catalogue reseller of information technology products. While there he successfully launched eCost.com, a premier business-to-business and business-to-consumer online retailer of computer products and consumer electronics. Klein was co-founder of PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. and served as Chief Operating Officer while the company grew from $12 million to nearly $1 billion.
Originally from Floral Park, New York, Klein is an accounting graduate of Syracuse University. He started his career with Proctor & Gamble in brand management and later was Director of Marketing at PepsiCo.
