COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lane Bryant™, the nation's leading plus-size women's specialty apparel retailer, was honored on Saturday at the annual Full Figured Fashion Week™ (FFFWeek) award ceremony as the 2011 "Plus Retailer of the Year", a distinguished award given to 13 individuals or businesses throughout the U.S. with outstanding achievements in the plus size fashion industry.

This marks the second year that the FFFWeek executive team has chosen award recipients based on their overall excellence and commitment to the plus-sized community. The executive team is lead by Gwen DeVoe, creator and executive producer of FFFWeek. The Full Figured Fashion Industry Award ceremony was hosted by MTV celebrity, Shanda Freeman at The Marriott Marquis in New York City on Saturday, June 18th at 6 p.m. EDT.

Full Figured Fashion Week, produced by DeVoe Signature Events in 2009, is the first event of its kind for the curvy fashion community. It provides a place for plus-size models and consumers, bloggers and media to celebrate full figured fashion with a series of conferences, workshops, shopping trips, meet-and-greets and fashion shows. The goal is to introduce plus-size fashion collections to a wider audience, showcase plus-models on the runway and allow the media, fashion industry buyers and consumers to have access to collections they may not be aware of.
