BOSTON, Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- BTL Aesthetics, leader in non-invasive aesthetic treatments, is excited to share the findings of a newly published study that boasts long lasting benefits of noninvasive, radiofrequency (RF) energy—as used in the breakthrough BTL Vanquish and Vanquish ME devices—to achieve abdominal circumferential reduction. Evaluating results four years post-treatment, this study is a first-of-its-kind for the non-invasive space as it goes beyond the standard evaluation time period, further demonstrating the technology's ability to help impart a permanent reduction of fat within the area of treatment.
While a rapidly growing category, non-invasive body shaping treatments are still fairly new to the market, making physicians and consumers alike eager for more long-term data. Until now, there has been very little scientific evidence published to document how fat reduction achieved through noninvasive RF treatment evolves over time, making the release of this four-year data significant for both BTL Aesthetics and the industry at large.
"We're thrilled to have this four-year follow-up data, as most clinical studies only incorporate evaluations 3-12 months following the procedure, and has remained the industry standard for post-treatment assessment." shares Tomas Boleslavsky of BTL Aesthetics. "The use of BTL Vanquish technology within this study further speaks to the brand's leadership within the industry, as well as its impressive and sustainable treatment results."
This study evaluated 13 individuals who received the BTL Vanquish treatment four years (+60 days) prior, utilizing the same measurement markers as those at the 1-month follow-up visit in the original Journal of Drugs and Dermatology study. The study findings prove that patients preserved an average 75.2% of the original body contouring effect four years post treatment series as demonstrated by abdominal circumferential reduction. While the treatments cannot prevent any future weight gains, the data is significant as it boasts sustained treatment results and no long-term side effects.
"This is a milestone study for the industry, as evidence of how the results evolve over longer periods of time hadn't been studied" shared Dr. Klaus Fritz. "While we [physicians] have always known the effects of radiofrequency induced apoptosis are permanent, this study's findings clinically demonstrate just that, along with the fact that long term results of BTL Vanquish treatments can be sustained."
