Landmark Nonvolatile Memory Patent for Auction by ICAP Patent Brokerage

CHICAGO, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Patent Brokerage announces the auction of an improved inductive storage capacitor patent from Grail Semiconductor. The patent is currently in receivership, and ICAP PB has been engaged by the receiver to sell the patent.

Boasting a 2001 priority date, US Patent No. 6,642,552 discloses a device that is capable of capacitance significantly faster than conventional devices, and which enables induction with any radio-frequency circuit.

Importantly, one embodiment of the device separates the core from the sleeve of an inductive capacitor by a dielectric material that stores an electrical charge when the device is powered off. This inductive capacitor may be used to implement a nonvolatile memory cell in one application and a timing circuit in another.
