LANDesk Mobility Expert to Speak at Mobile Computing Summit
Mike Temple, product manager, to discuss new method for managing the increasingly mobile enterprise
SALT LAKE CITY, June 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LANDesk Software, a global leader in systems lifecycle management, endpoint security and IT service management, today announced that company product manager and mobility expert, Mike Temple, will be speaking at the Mobile Computing Summit, taking place June 28-30 at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, Calif. Temple will be one of several experts featured in the "Managing the Mobile Enterprise" tutorial – his session "Empowering Your Increasingly Mobile Workforce" will provide IT decision makers with the information necessary to gain control of the blind spots in their organizations created by the influx of mobile devices. Temple will also be participating in a roundtable discussion, in which he will discuss mobile enterprise policy.
In its first year, the Mobile Computing Summit was created to bring IT professionals the latest information on mobile computing in the enterprise with an emphasis on smartphones, tablets, netbooks and laptops. This event will emphasize the effective use and management of mobile computers and the security issues surrounding them and will provide attendees with the opportunity to interact with professionals in-the-know about social computing within enterprises.
The "Managing the Mobile Enterprise" tutorial takes place on Thursday, June 30 from 8:30 to 10:50 a.m. PT. Temple's session will teach attendees how to move away from the data-center driven, "inside-out" approach of managing endpoints that many traditional market players still focus on, and will provide insights on how to manage devices from the "endpoint in." This approach involves shifting from focusing on devices to focusing on the end user. In other words, the user becomes the endpoint.
Temple will also be participating in the "Beer, Pizza and Chat with the Experts" roundtable, which takes place Wednesday, June 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. PT. He will discuss mobile enterprise policy and will address attendee questions about how to make their company mobility policies more effective and secure.
Temple is the product manager for the LANDesk mobility strategy and product line, recently leading the launch of LANDesk Mobility Management, which enables IT administrators to manage the explosion of mobile devices in their environment via a single console and database. Temple brings over 20 years of high tech IT industry experience to his role. Before joining the LANDesk product management team, he held various sales, management and consulting roles at LANDesk, along with other high tech companies, including Compuware and Red Hat.
