NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of Lancôme's seventh year supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the brand is elevating its fundraising efforts to raise greater awareness of pediatric cancer support. In honor of Lancôme's commitment to support St. Jude's patients and their families, the brand has initiated an interactive social media "hand heart" campaign designed to engage with a younger, socially-conscious demographic, alongside nationwide on- and off-line fundraising efforts across all of its retail partners.
From October 16th to October 22nd, the brand will donate $1 to St. Jude for every transaction made on Lancome-usa.com and at all Lancôme counters nationwide. In purchasing the brand's bestselling products, such as the innovative Juicy Shaker, customers are helping Lancôme to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The majority of funding for St. Jude comes from individual contributions through programs like this, and helps ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Supporting their fundraising efforts digitally, from September 29th to October 25th, 2016, Lancôme invites fans and followers to help support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through their Hand Heart Campaign – celebrating "moments of happiness." Fans of the brand are encouraged to Instagram or Tweet "hand hearts" with the hashtag #LancomeLovesStJude and the brand will make a $1 donation to St. Jude in their honor, up to $10,000.
"It's inspiring for our organization to be involved and contribute to such a miracle, and I'm humbled and proud of our partnership with St. Jude," says Suriya Parksuwan, President of Lancôme USA. "Everything you hear and see at St. Jude is truly filled with color, positivity and optimism. It's purely magical to see the work that the hospital does to make life for patients and their families feel more ordinary, while focusing on what's important: getting better and having moments of happiness."
In continuing support of Lancôme's partnership with St. Jude, the brand have also launched an "always on" fundraising campaign on lancome-usa.com to ensure that the brand's mission to support pediatric cancer awareness throughout the year is upheld. Upon checkout on the e-commerce platform, all customers have the option to make a donation of their choosing to St. Jude.
"The support of Lancôme, its network of ambassadors and generous customers is making a significant difference in the lives of some of the world's sickest children," said Richard Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "By raising awareness and funds to support our lifesaving mission through charitable campaigns and providing makeovers for teen patients at events such as the St. Jude Teen formal, Lancôme has been a steadfast partner for seven years and has truly shown the beauty of philanthropy."
Let's end childhood cancer. Together.
