Lakeside Software Enhances SysTrack with PCoIP Protocol Support
Integration of Controls for Breakthrough Display Compression Technology Enables Superior Management of VMware View™ Virtual Desktop Deployments
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Aug. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lakeside Software, a leader in business Intelligence solutions for IT professionals, announced the release and general availability of SysTrack®v6 incorporating support for the PCoIP® protocol.
The PCoIP ("PC-over-IP®") protocol developed by Teradici® and incorporated into VMware View™ 5 as a part of the co-development between the two companies allows all enterprise desktops, from task workers to power users, to be centrally located and managed in the data center, while providing the remote user with an exceptional user experience.
SysTrack monitors all 33 session metrics specific to PCoIP performance and supports new PCoIP management interfaces in VMware View™ 5 to track display protocol behavior. Technicians can model the protocol's impact on the user experience and call out individual elements of a PCoIP transmission to better understand factors comprising bandwidth demand. SysTrack utilizes Lakeside's patented and massively scalable DataMine™ distributed relational database architecture that aggregates user-level data unmatched in depth and quality.
Uniquely, SysTrack maps this comprehensive PCoIP data to application behavior, system resource analysis, integrated event and fault tracking, automated backend-server detection and analysis and other data to provide IT professionals with unprecedented insight into the dynamics of the end-user environment. With this insight, IT professionals can more effectively manage their virtualized user community, proactively diagnose and fix problems, and quantify the delivered end user experience over time and across geos and lines of business.
"Lakeside enhances the value of the PCoIP protocol to client organizations by providing a powerful tool for measuring the quality of the end-user experience and the effectiveness of the PCoIP implementation," said Dan Cordingley, CEO of Teradici. "With deeper insight gleaned from better data, IT professionals can ensure the best virtualized user experience."
"VMware View™ 5 delivers the best user experience on the LAN or the WAN with drastically improved PCoIP performance while reducing bandwidth by up to 75%," said Vittorio Viarengo, vice president, End-User Computing, VMware. "By partnering with VMware, Lakeside delivers to VMware View customers greater visibility and insight into PCoIP performance to better manage their virtual desktop deployment."
"Organizations utilizing VMware View™ and the PCoIP protocol can now use SysTrack to more effectively manage their virtualized user communities," said Brinton Baker, Vice President of Marketing, Lakeside Software. "PCoIP support in SysTrack improves the end-user experience and productivity and enables IT organizations to provide better service at a lower cost."
