Lakeside Community Healthcare Takes On Diabetes with Interactive Program

NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Dec. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Offered by Lakeside Community Healthcare, Regal Medical Group and ADOC, DEEP is a self-management program for people with prediabetes or diabetes. The six-week, no-cost program gives participants the tools and practical skills to help them manage their diabetes. It reinforces the important message that the more people living with diabetes know about their condition, the better able they are at making decisions that will improve their health.

DEEP classes are highly interactive, informative, and presented in a supportive group environment. "I just completed the six-week DEEP classes and wanted to thank you sincerely for the wonderful program," says member Tamara. "It was very well organized and educational. I learned so many tips that I use every day as I make decisions during my shopping and cooking."

DEEP workshop topics include knowing the risk factors of diabetes, eating healthy and meal planning, being physically active, losing weight, and managing medications. Eligible members who are on Medicare or are 65 years and older who participate in all six sessions will receive a $100 gift card. All other members (all ages) and non-members of the medical groups who are on Medicare or are 65 years and older will receive a $40 gift card once they complete the program.
