LADERA RANCH, Calif., Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ladera Sports Center announced today that it will host "The Takeover," a two-day basketball tournament for boys in first through eleventh grades from September 30 – October 1.
"We are excited to kick off the Ladera Sports Center basketball tournament series with 'The Takeover,' the first of eight tournaments to be held by our sports center during the 2017 – 2018 basketball season," said Steve Williams, chief executive officer of Ladera Sports Center. "It is a fun, competitive tournament that brought together approximately 100 teams in 2016."
Divisions for "The Takeover" include 8U/2nd, 9U/3rd, 10U/4th, 11U/5th, 12U/6th, 13U/7th, 14U/8th, 15U, 16U and 17U. There will also be a division for open, gold, silver and bronze.
The tournament will feature a 30-second shot clock, elite level competition, a statistics board of individual players, live streaming of all games and live interviews after championship games. Each team is guaranteed three to five games. The cost to participate is $295 for the first team and $275 for each additional team.
"Teams will compete for individual awards and trophies, which will be given to first and second place participants in each division," said Jameel Mahmud, executive vice president with Ladera Sports Center and tournament coordinator. "The competitive nature of the tournament provides an excellent platform for athletes to continue to sharpen their skill both as an individual and team. We look forward to helping each athlete grow."

Since its opening in 2016, Ladera Sports Center has become an increasingly popular venue for a wide range of athletic competitions, camps and classes, open gym and private training for basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, dance, pickleball and more.
