LAC Group Adds Senior-Level Legal and Library Industry Experts to LibSource Business Unit
LOS ANGELES, April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- LAC Group, a leading provider of mission-critical outsourced library, information, and knowledge management services, has hired John DiGilio and Katie Leonard as senior directors for the company's LibSource business unit. LibSource delivers Library as a Service (LaaS) solutions for research, business intelligence and other information center needs.
DiGilio joins LibSource as senior director of Research & Intelligence, a newly created position, from Reed Smith LLP where he was national manager of Library Research Services. Leonard comes from Thomson Reuters to be LibSource's senior director of Client Engagement, also a new role at the firm.
DiGilio's more than twenty-year career includes overseeing research programs for law firms, speaking and writing internationally about library science and analyzing and promoting the value of research. His charge at LibSource is building up the company's international team of virtual research librarians to serve law firms, corporations and any entity with a need for top-quality research and competitive intelligence. DiGilio's focus will be ensuring his research team delivers what clients need and anticipating what LibSource will need in the way of talent and skills.
"Business professionals are surrounded by information and misinformation. But LibSource is how research is done faster, smarter – a virtual, distributed model with expert teams coming together based on each need," said DiGilio. "LaaS is a really big opportunity for research professionals who want to be part of an exciting future. It's why I joined."
Leonard's twenty-year career includes selecting and evaluating information technology, consulting with senior-level executives, directors and library heads and developing programs for cost recovery and competitive intelligence. Prior to LibSource, she was a librarian relations manager at Thomson Reuters working with AmLaw 200 firms, liaising with library directors and staff. Before that, her career included roles as a librarian for Sidley Austin LLP and as a research analyst for Accenture and a subsidiary of Divine, Inc.
"In my new role at LibSource, we'll give executives at AmLaw 200 firms and corporations the help they need to build a library for the future," said Leonard. "LibSource understands how libraries are changing. I want clients to be at the forefront, where library services are headed."
"John and Katie are passionate about our industry. They know how to help clients create a strategy, and they can anticipate a client's needs," said Rob Corrao, chief operating officer for LAC Group. "They know the difference between collecting and serving up data and actually deriving, actionable business results from information."
DiGilio holds a master's in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh and a juris doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law. Leonard earned her master's in library and information science from the University of Illinois. Both are members of the Special Libraries Association and American Association of Law Libraries.
