La Lumiere Aligns With Noted Thought Leaders in Dermatology
Innovative start-up enlists some of skincare's brightest lights
NEW YORK, March 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Having established itself as a driving force in the world of skincare, La Lumiere, LLC, now has a scientific advisory board to match: It's stacked with some of the country's most elite and innovative dermatologists and plastic surgeons, all seasoned experts in the latest laser and light technologies. Together, these experts will help La Lumiere achieve its goal: to deliver affordable, cutting-edge light therapy to everyone, to bring new life to skin.
The company's illuMask®, the first-ever wearable light-therapy treatment, catapulted to worldwide fame last year. Only $29.99, it's become a runaway bestseller at Target, Ulta, Wal-Mart and illumask.com. For everybody who's longed for phototherapy (but doesn't want to pay a dermatologist $250+ for a 15-minute treatment), illuMask is a game-changer. You get precise wavelengths similar to those used in a doctor's office – and since you can wear the hands-free mask at home, for 15 minutes every day for a month, the skin-transforming benefits add up.
Being inclusive is built into the brand's DNA. "Something as effective as light therapy shouldn't be priced out of reach for the mass market," says La Lumiere founder Jay Tapper. "Good, affordable care for healthier skin is a moral imperative." With the help of its formidable new brain trust, the company won't just spread the word about the benefits and accessibility of light therapy, one of dermatology's most valued tools. It'll also tap into the collective knowledge of leading doctors to spark future light applications – all effective enough to belie their drugstore price tags.

About illuMask®: LED-phototherapy works better than ever at improving skin tone and smoothness, and La Lumiere is founded on the notion that everyone should have access to it. Proving the point, the company's debut technology, illuMask®, uses the same kind of precise light waves previously available only in spas and doctors' offices – in an easy-to-wear, at-home device that costs a fraction of just one in-office treatment. The company works with leading dermatologists on the frontier of skin-laser science and it shows: illuMask® comes in two versions, both FDA-cleared for safety and effectiveness. One radiates a mix of red and infrared LED wavelengths to fight signs of aging. The other zaps acne-causing bacteria with red and blue light to keep skin clear – and since you can use the devices every day, the benefits add up. Already a national bestseller, illuMask® is the brainchild of La Lumiere CEO Jay Tapper, a serial entrepreneur who has sold multiple businesses to leading Fortune 500 companies. Tapper has played an integral part in bringing to market such notable innovations as Spinbrush (the first-ever battery-powered toothbrush), Spin Pop (the world's first interactive candy), and Stretch Armstrong (the iconic children's toy). Just $29.99, illuMask® offers 30 treatments of 15 minutes each.
