Full album available on February 23 in stores and online
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Nightstage, the LA-based rock group who released two singles last year (Grovy Lane, You Will Never Get It Back) under the name Max Foxx & Nicky Renard, will perform select tracks from their all-new album, Sunset Industry, during a very special live event at SIR on Sunset Blvd., in Los Angeles on February 28th, powered by AXS, a leading ticketing and digital media platform. The full streamed performance will be available across AXS' social and online platforms beginning March 5th.
"Our band has a powerful, soft-yet-heavy sound which shines on this album and we couldn't think of a better place to debut our new album, Sunset Industry, than to play it live than on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles," said the band's co-founder, Max Foxx.
Sunset Industry will be available digitally and on CD in stores, like CDBaby, and across a wide array of online music locations including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. It was recorded and mixed at Zac Brown's Southern Ground Studios in Nashville, TN. The live line-up consists of 16-year-old Nicky Renard on lead guitar, Max Foxx on rhythm guitar and keyboard, Robbie Wyckoff on lead vocals, Chad Cromwell on drums, Robert Kearns on bass, Windy Wagner on backing vocals, Jay Gore as third guitarist, and Jimmy Z providing a saxophone solo.
The father-and-daughter duo of Foxx & Renard collaborated in composing each of the albums 11 songs, creating a truly unique sound in their self-defined genre of "heavy soft rock".
"We call our type of music heavy soft rock because the songs themselves are relatively soft, but made powerful with heavy guitars, drums and basslines," said Foxx.
"My Dad and I collaborate on the music, and then I usually write the lyrics, with a few exceptions. All songs generally start off with one of us sharing a riff or chord progression with the other," Renard added. "From that point, we start collaborating and composing new parts together, and the final product is almost unrecognizable from how the song initially started out."
Doors to the event open at 6:30pm. To attend this free live performance, please RSVP here. With an open bar all guests must be 21+.
If you are unable to attend, the performance will be broadcasted on March 5. at 5:30 p.m. PST on the AXS Facebook Page.
