Kyäni Caring Hands Completes 12 Classroom School in Chiapas, Mexico

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, Aug. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kyäni, Inc. announced today the completion of a project by Kyäni Caring Hands to renovate a school in Chiapas, Mexico, to support more students. Kyäni Caring Hands first built the six-classroom school in 2015 to replace the small wooden schoolhouse that had no electricity or windows. In early 2017 construction began to expand the school to 12 classrooms, which was completed in mid-July. The school can now accommodate 350 students.

Kyäni Founder and Chairman Kirk Hansen remarked on the need for the school in the community. "This community had 70 students attending school in what was little more than a wooden shack. As soon as we built the new school, we had over 180 students attending. The demand was so great, and the students were so anxious to be a part of the school, that we knew we had to expand the facility to serve more children. Several of the recent graduates are now attending secondary school with the help of Kyäni scholarships."

This project is just the latest example of Kyäni Caring Hands seeking to fulfill its mission to bring hope to children in need by improving access to nutrition, sanitation, and education. Kyäni Caring Hands periodically conducts expeditions to visit areas of great need in the world to perform service projects such as building schools and setting up areas where Potato Pak is prepared and fed to children in need. An expedition is currently in the planning stages for 2018, with the location yet to be determined.
