Kuwaiti Prime Minister Works to Bolster Relations Worldwide
KUWAIT CITY, Jan. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah met with Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki today, his first official visit to the nation. His Highness the Prime Minister congratulated Al-Maliki on the formation of the new Iraqi government and the leaders discussed ways to strengthen the Kuwaiti-Iraqi relationship.
Earlier this week, Sheikh Nasser met at the Amiri tent in Bayan Palace with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Prime Minister Erdogan led an official business delegation which is seeking to boost economic and political ties with Kuwait. Following the talks on Monday, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on industrial cooperation.
The talks with the Turkish delegation were attended by various high-ranking officials including Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah; Head of the Honorary Mission and Advisor to His Highness, the Prime Minister Diwan Dr. Ismail Al-Shatti; Minister of Oil and Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali; and Minister of Commerce and Industry Ahmad Rashed Al-Haroun.
On Tuesday January 11, the Premier continued his busy itinerary. Meeting with Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and with the spouse of Albanian Prime Minister Dr. Liri Berisha, separately, His Highness the Prime Minister held talks to further solidify these longtime diplomatic friendships.
During the past year, Sheikh Nasser has been working vigorously to bolster diplomatic ties worldwide. He plans a robust schedule of meetings and visits in the upcoming months.
