LAS VEGAS, Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kudelski Security, a trusted advisor and cybersecurity innovator for the world's most security-conscious organizations, today announced Andrew Howard, CISSP, CISM, as its chief technology officer. Howard will be responsible for setting the overall technology strategy for the company's cybersecurity solutions and will lead research and development (R&D) operations globally, including the creation of a new R&D center in Atlanta, Georgia, and management of the company's existing R&D centers in Cheseaux, Switzerland and India, where the company explores and develops leading-edge cybersecurity solutions to support emerging client requirements.
"Andrew is an exceptional leader and cybersecurity technologist whose experience developing solutions and managing risk in the most demanding operational environments has established him as a trusted advisor for leading corporations and federal agencies," said Rich Fennessy, chief executive officer of Kudelski Security. "His proven ability to drive our technology agenda forward with advanced research and product development will be an enormous asset to our continued growth as a premier cybersecurity innovator and solutions provider."
In addition to overseeing the company's proprietary technology and product development, Howard will also lead the evaluation of third-party technology products and drive the strategy for delivering recommended best-of-breed solutions that best match a client's technical and business requirements.
Prior to joining Kudelski Security, Howard led Georgia Tech's applied cybersecurity research and development portfolio headquartered at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). As the laboratory director for GTRI's Cyber Technology and Information Security Laboratory, he directed research and advisory programs targeting complex challenges in government and industry. He has served as an advisor on emerging security threats to Fortune 250 CISOs and government bodies and has extensive experience as a security architect, strategist and technical leader. Previously, he was at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, in the Technology Security Advisory Practice, where he designed and managed information security programs for Fortune 100 companies. Howard holds an MBA in Management of Technology and a master's degree in Information Security from Georgia Tech, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
"Kudelski Security has an impressive history of innovation and extremely high-end capabilities that set them apart," said Howard. "I am looking forward to working with the team to build a robust portfolio of next-generation cybersecurity solutions that are not only innovative, but can be practically implemented and maintained as part of a well-defined and mature cybersecurity program."
Howard's hire is the latest of a number of recent senior leadership appointments as the company expands its global presence (see today's press release: Kudelski Security Expands Into U.S. Market to Address Unmet Demand for Advanced Cybersecurity Solutions). Other additions to the global executive team include:
