SAN FRANCISCO, NEW YORK, LONDON and SINGAPORE, April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Krux (www.krux.com), the global technology leader in cloud-based data management, has opened an office in Singapore and appointed marketing and digital media pioneer Stu Spiteri as managing director, Asia-Pacific, to take advantage of the rapid demand for the company's DMP solution in the region.
Mr. Spiteri has 15 years experience in Asia's digital media industry. He will lead Krux's regional effort with a focus on sales and business development across the region. In 2013, Krux's Asia-Pacific revenues quadrupled as the company provided its Data Management Platform to leading brands, marketers and publishers in multiple countries across Asia-Pacific including CCI Japan, DNP Japan, NewsLimited, CarSales.com.au, RealEstate.com.au and many others.
"The Asia-Pacific region, with 400 percent revenue increase in 2013 and a more than doubling of clients, has shown consistent organic growth and demand for Krux's data management technology," said Krux Co-founder and CEO Tom Chavez. "Now, with the addition of veteran digital pro Stu Spiteri to our management team, and the opening of our first office in Asia, we've increased our ability to support the needs of brand managers, marketers and publishers throughout the region. Stu lives and breathes digital media and enterprise technology; his joining Krux positions us even better for accelerated growth in the region."
Prior to joining Krux, Mr. Spiteri was chief executive officer of Brandscreen, a Sydney, Australia-based real-time media trading tech start-up. Previously, he was chief operating officer of News Digital Media, the online division of News Corporation's Australian subsidiary News Limited.
He spent several years at Google as Head of Platforms, APAC, responsible for Doubleclick, AdExchange, Invite Media as well as Google's buy-side platform technology suite and agency solutions. Mr. Spiteri spent eight years as managing director, Asia-Pacific, for Akamai Technologies, building the business from a standing start in 2003 to operations in nine countries.
Before joining Akamai, Mr. Spiteri was a member of the founding management team of chinadotcom, the largest Internet company in Asia in 1999. He was responsible for the 24/7 Media Asia businesses -- the first ad network and media-rep in Asia-Pacific operating under license from 24/7 Media Inc. Additionally, his responsibilities included the broader precision marketing businesses of chinadotcom encompassing offline direct marketing operations and online technology platforms with operations in 10 markets.
An Australian national and 20-year Asia resident, Mr. Spiteri has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, an Intermediate Diploma of Mandarin from the Nanjing Normal University and a Certificate in Advanced Public Speaking.
