Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Is 'Hot Now' in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 8, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Krispy Kreme is HERE!! The iconic brand's first Philadelphia location will open at 7855 Oxford Avenue in Fox Chase on Tuesday, November 9 at 6:00 a.m.

The new location features classic favorites like signature hot Original Glazed® doughnuts and great tasting coffee and espresso drinks. First-ever Krispy Kreme offerings such as the Baked Creations line including bagels, muffins, and cinnamon rolls will also be served. Store will also have a 24-hour drive-thru.

Krispy Kreme Philly will be flipping the switch on the HOT LIGHT at 6:00 a.m. and the first Krispy Kreme enthusiasts will be rewarded:

• the FIRST customer to walk through the door and the first customer to drive through the drive-thru will receive one free dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts every week for a year.
• the NEXT 11 customers to walk through the door and the next 11 customers to drive through the drive-thru will receive one free dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts every month for a year.
• the FIRST 100 customers will receive an official Krispy Kreme Philly T-shirt.

The ribbon cutting ceremony occurs at 10:00 a.m. Attending the ceremony: Philadelphia City Councilman Brian O'Neill; Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation's CEO Jim Morgan; Krispy Kreme Philadelphia's franchisee and area developer Dough Nuts for Doughnuts partners, Keith Morgan and Brian Zaslow; as well as Commanding Officer Lt. Bryan Anthony from the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (PAL). Krispy Kreme Philadelphia will donate a portion of its proceeds to PAL.

The new Krispy Kreme factory store is at the intersection of Oxford and Hasbrook Avenues. The location is convenient to SEPTA's Fox Chase Station and #18 and #24 bus routes.
