KPMG's Tax Governance Institute Webcast to Spotlight Operational Transfer Pricing
NEW YORK, July 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG's Tax Governance Institute (TGI) invites board members, CFOs and other interested parties to a live video webcast that will highlight the business and tax risks that can arise as transfer pricing is integrated into the day-to-day operations of large multinational companies, on Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (ET).
Individuals interested in attending the program, "Operational Transfer Pricing: Bridging the Gap Between Transfer Pricing Policy and Accounting Integrity – Part II," can register by logging on to:
www.taxgovernanceinstitute.com.
Hank Gutman, KPMG principal, director of the TGI and former chief of staff for the U.S. Congress Joint Committee on Taxation, will moderate the webcast, which will feature a panel discussion with commentary from:
- Al Sonander, global head of tax strategy, Thomson Reuters;
- Corrie Blough, vice president, transfer pricing & controversy at Hewlett-Packard Company; and
- Rema Serafi, managing principal, KPMG's U.S. Transfer Pricing Services.
"Heightened regulatory scrutiny and the sheer volume of inter-company trade have made integration of transfer pricing activities and documentation imperative for multinational corporations," said Gutman. "Without adequate controls and appropriate documentation, companies can find themselves facing significant financial and reputational risks."
The panel will share how companies have aligned implementation with strategy and improved the integrity of intercompany accounts within their organizations. It will describe leading practices associated with end-to-end transfer pricing, including benchmarking a company's current environment, designing processes and controls, and implementing supporting technologies.
Part of the KPMG Institute Network (www.kpmginstitutes.com), the Tax Governance Institute (www.taxgovernanceinstitute.com) provides opportunities for board members, corporate management, stakeholders, government representatives and others to share knowledge regarding the identification, oversight, management, and appropriate disclosure of tax risk.
