KPMG Women's Leadership Summit: Condoleezza Rice Receives "Inspire Greatness Award"
Rice Recognized for Exemplary Leadership and Paving the Way for the Next Generation of Women Leaders
NEW YORK, June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Condoleezza Rice received the first-ever "Inspire Greatness Award" yesterday at the KPMG Women's Leadership Summit. Rice was recognized by KPMG, the PGA of America, and the LPGA for her exemplary leadership at the highest levels, where she has helped pave the way for new generations of women leaders. Rice also served as a keynote speaker at the summit – an event that brought together today's most accomplished leaders in business, politics, sports and media to inspire the next generation of women leaders – held in conjunction with the KPMG Women's PGA Championship this week.
"Truly remarkable leadership is not just about motivating others to follow – it's about inspiring them to become leaders themselves, and setting the stage for even greater opportunities for future generations. Dr. Rice is a woman who embodies that spirit of leadership," said KPMG Global Chairman John Veihmeyer. "Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Rice has inspired many and we could not be more proud to have her as the first recipient of the Inspire Greatness Award."
Leaders from KPMG, the PGA of America, and the LPGA, as well as the KPMG Women's Leadership Summit advisory council, comprised of exemplary leaders from across business, sports, and the media, selected Rice for the award.
"It's important to emphasize and underscore the important role of women leaders both in the business world and on the golf course," said Rice. "I'm honored to receive the Inspire Greatness Award at the KPMG Women's Leadership Summit and I look forward to seeing the great things accomplished by this next generation of impressive women leaders."
The Inspire Greatness award recipient is an industry leader who: is recognized by their peers for helping women advance in the workplace, their organization, or industry; inspires and empowers others; actively supports the community in which they live by paving the way for future generations of women leaders; and recognizes golf as a critical networking tool for advancing personally and professionally.
KPMG Women's PGA Championship/KPMG Women's Leadership Summit

The Championship offers a $3.5 million purse, among the highest in women's golf, and will be broadcast on NBC and Golf Channel.
The charitable initiative – which also will be shaped by the advisory council – will focus on investing in future generations of women leaders.
