NEW YORK, July 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, will host a timely webcast focused on the international corporate tax implications of cloud computing, on Tuesday, July 31, from 2 p.m to 3 p.m. (ET), to help companies better understand the potential tax risks and opportunities of doing business in the cloud.
The webcast, titled "International Tax Implications of Cloud Computing: The Cloud User Perspective," is the third in a four-part KPMG series on the "Tax in the Cloud" topic. Tax, finance, information technology and other business professionals interested in participating in the program can register here.
"As more and more U.S. companies incorporate cloud-based solutions into their businesses, there is a growing need for tax departments to identify and understand the business and tax issues that can arise when utilizing the cloud," said Steven Fortier, KPMG's Tax Cloud leader. "Our webcast looks at how those challenges can be compounded when a U.S. multi-national company employs a cloud solution on a global basis, while also highlighting key issues and international tax considerations for companies utilizing the cloud or partnering with cloud service providers."
KPMG partners and professionals who will share their insights during the program include:
- Brett Weaver, tax partner, International Corporate Services practice;
- Tom Hayes, tax managing director, International Corporate Services practice;
- Gregory George, tax partner, International Corporate Service practice.
The key international tax considerations the webcast will cover include identifying relevant data necessary to support cross-border payments, character and source income determinations, withholding tax considerations, and indirect tax implications.
The webcast series is part of KPMG's TaxWatch events designed to keep tax professionals updated on recent industry developments and trends.
