Analyst recognizes KPMG's global leadership in latest IDC MarketScape Report
HOUSTON, Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG's global oil and gas practice was named a Leader in oil and gas professional services in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Oil and Gas Professional Services 2016 Vendor Assessment (doc #US40842116, August 2016*).
The IDC MarketScape report is based on research and more than 30 interviews with major oil and gas companies, oilfield services companies, and manufacturers of oilfield equipment. Along with KPMG, 12 other professional services providers were assessed in areas including solutions unique to the oil and gas industry, geographic presence and capabilities around business and management consulting, IT consulting, outsourcing, and systems integration.
"It is a great honor to be recognized as a Leader in oil and gas services and underscores our long-standing commitment to the industry," said Regina Mayor, Global Sector Head, Energy and Natural Resources, KPMG in the U.S. "We continue to make investments to enhance our ability to apply a strategic look at the impacts of disruptive technologies to help clients address the challenges they are facing."
The IDC MarketScape's analysis noted the time and resources KPMG dedicates to providing strategic, tailored services to the oil and gas industry, referencing work across the entire value chain. Chris Niven, Research Director, IDC Energy Insights said, "KPMG invests significant time and resources to provide strategic services that are truly tailored to the specific needs of the industry and has developed an oil and gas IT practice with unique capabilities to help clients address the huge challenges they face today." Additionally, KPMG's relationships with clients stood out in the analysis, which Mr. Niven found to show "how a consultancy and its client can collaborate to solve global problems."
"Our capabilities across the entire oil and gas value chain have been developed carefully with deep understanding of the issues affecting companies and an eye on emerging trends," said Mayor. "The strength of KPMG's services lies in our ability to tap into a wealth of local knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the entire global network."
