KPMG LLP's Laura Hay Named To Consulting Magazine's 2012 Women Leaders In Consulting List
Insurance Industry Expert Cited for Exceptional "Leadership"
NEW YORK, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Laura Hay, KPMG LLP's National Sector Leader for insurance, has been named one of Consulting magazine's 2012 top Women Leaders in Consulting, the U.S. audit, tax, and advisory firm announced today. Hay was recognized in the "Leadership" category.
Hay has more than 28 years of experience in the insurance industry focused on audit, advisory and actuarial work. A principal within the firm's Advisory function, Hay sits on both the Global Insurance Leadership team and the U.S. Financial Services Leadership team.
As National Sector Leader for insurance, Hay heads up a team of more than 1,000 professionals. She also leads diversity initiatives for Financial Services, which has contributed to women now occupying more than half of the positions on the insurance leadership team. Hay joined KPMG in 1993 and is a member of the firm's Board of Directors and the KPMG Foundation. Prior to joining KPMG, she worked for a large mutual life insurance company.
Hay is deeply involved with mentoring and works with several women under the auspices of KPMG's "Leaders Engaging Leaders" program. She also developed a program for future leaders, the "Insurance Senior Manager Network," under which she shares industry perspectives, works on projects, and provides access to U.S. firm leadership.

A resident of Hartsdale, N.Y., Hay is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a fellow of the Society of Actuaries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics with minor in statistics from the University of California at Berkeley.
