Celebrity Closest-to-the-Pin Contest: $250,000 is up for grabs during this fourth-annual contest that brings together 15 of the tournament's best players to compete in the Korbel Closest-to-the-Pin contest. Half of the prize winnings will be donated to charity and this fan favorite is always a crowd-pleaser. This year's contest takes place on Friday, July 17 on hole 17 after the first round of play.
Celebrity Spray-Off: As celebrity superstars prepare to tee off on the 18th hole, Korbel will challenge them to show off their best champagne celebration skills as part of the Celebrity Spray-Off for a chance to win $5,000 for their charity of choice from the Korbel Toast Life® Foundation. Korbel will judge participants on champagne spray creativity and cork distance. Last year, the "Celebrity Spray-Off" brought out more than 50 contestants, including last year's winner, Former NFL MVP Joe Theismann and runner-up 10-time LPGA Champion Annika Sorenstam. The Spray-Off will take place throughout the day Thursday, July 16 between holes 17 and 18.
Celebratory Signature Cocktail: Korbel pays tribute to the Celebrity Closest-to-the-Pin contest with an official drink, the "Korbel Sparkling Eagle." Reflecting the spirit of Lake Tahoe, the "Korbel Sparkling Eagle" features Korbel California Champagne, lemonade, and melon liqueur and is served in a lowball glass with a large maraschino cherry garnish at the bottom, representing the hole-in-one.
Celebrating Responsibly: Korbel, in partnership with TEAM Coalition, is challenging tournament fans to sign a responsibility pledge that outlines ways in which to celebrate responsibly. Everyone who attends the event plays an important role by drinking responsibly, behaving respectfully, and always having a designated driver. On Thursday and Friday of tournament play, fans can sign a large oversized golf ball to show their support.
