HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., July 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Komax Desuperheater has long been a staple in power plants across the United States, and for good reason. It's a reliable option that always provides predictability and continuous repeatable results. As new markets emerge, the Komax Desuperheater simply adapts to the changing environment expanding our industries such as emerging Liquid Natural Gas Plants in both the US and worldwide.

Adding Safety to the Mix
The Komax Desuperheater offers a different style of cooling compared to conventional desuperheaters on the market.
"Our Desuperheater utilizes a very different technology conventional models just don't offer. Inside is our patented Equalizer mixing module, which utilizes a low pressure spray nozzle that injects facing upstream along with six fixed mixing elements. Cooling begins the moment the cooling fluid enters the pipeline and is greatly enhanced as it passes through the mixing elements, "said Nolan Smith/Sr. Applications Specialist.
As the Equalizer forces near complete absorption of the cooling liquid instantaneously, large straight pipe lengths are not required to normalize the temperature profile as they are with typical desuperheaters. This also eliminates thermal cycling, which causes fatigue in the pipeline, unlike any desuperheater on the market.
"Our Desuperheaters require only 5-10 pipe diameters downstream before the next part of your process and with the elimination of pooling in the pipeline the unit is low maintenance, conserving time, space and money in the long run," said Sameer Kshirsagar/ Sr. Applications Specialist.
It's that level of efficiency many are looking to meet, particularly with new regulations being implemented in plants on a daily basis.
Komax is well known for designing equipment that is virtually maintenance free, and that prove important to increasingly strained energy plant budgets over time.
