KnowledgeTree will nearly double its staff in the next 12 months, tapping the wealth of technology professionals in the Raleigh-area Research Triangle. The company will bolster its sales, marketing and engineering departments with the new hires. To accommodate the new team members, KnowledgeTree expanded its office space by 120 percent. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply to KnowledgeTree via its careers website.
The company's first new hire is CFO Petra Weishaupt-Smith. She brings more than two decades of financial experience in technology companies to KnowledgeTree. Weishaupt-Smith most recently served as COO and CFO at Digitalsmiths Corporation, a video discovery technology company. She is a licensed CPA and has a successful track record in guiding early-stage technology companies through fund raising, growth, acquisitions and IPOs.
For further assistance in guiding KnowledgeTree's ongoing success, the company announced Phillip Merrick to its board of directors. Merrick is the founder and managing partner of Bibury Partners, an early-stage technology investment and advisory firm. Previously, Merrick was co-founder and CEO of webMethods, Inc., a leading vendor of business integration software. Under his leadership, the company pioneered web services and XML-based software integration technologies, demonstrated the strongest revenue growth of any U.S. software company in the period 1998 through 2002 and achieved the most successful software IPO to date in February of 2000.
More recently, Merrick served as chairman of EnterpriseDB Corporation and RollStream, Inc. "KnowledgeTree is poised to re-invent the way organizations and departments create and manage documents. I look forward to sharing my expertise with the team," said Merrick.
"KnowledgeTree continues to grow in every area of our business. Our additional staff members and office space will allow us to continue our leadership role in cloud-based document management," said Daniel Chalef, chief executive officer of KnowledgeTree. "We're also very pleased to welcome Phillip Merrick and Petra Weishaupt-Smith to our team. Their experience and leadership will be invaluable in the next chapter of KnowledgeTree's journey."
