Know when your business travelers are at risk with NC4's ActivPoint™ app
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NC4 Inc. is excited to announce major updates and user improvements to its ActivPoint™ smartphone application. In 2014, NC4 released the GPS-enabled ActivPoint app as a mobile companion to NC4 Risk Center™, which allows businesses to increase on-the-go situational awareness and mitigate global hazards impacting employee travel and duty of care responsibilities.
The recent updates add a new layer of flexibility and efficiency on top of the app's positional reporting and geo-fencing features. Here's a closer look at what's new in the latest version:
- Improved battery performance: ActivPoint users now have the option to put the app in an enhanced conservation mode that reduces the frequency of position updates and allows the app to run in the background with minimal impact on battery life. If an incident occurs near the user's latest updated location, ActivPoint will automatically wake up and alert those connected. The update also adds a pause button that temporarily halts the positioning feature and serves as an additional privacy and battery conservation option.
- Enhanced privacy settings: ActivPoint's existing non-position-reporting mode has been enhanced to give users more control over the amount of information they share with corporate headquarters. This setting allows users to manually push position updates through on demand, rather than having the app automatically track every step. Users can also choose which positions to report, giving them more flexibility to communicate with corporate headquarters if and when they need assistance.
- Direct communication link: The ActivPoint updates make it possible for businesses to send direct messages to travelers through the app in the case of an emergency and request and record an "I'm OK" affirmation. The app also includes a quick-dial button that the business traveler can touch without having to look through their contacts or manually dial a number. These improvements create a more direct and efficient communication link between corporations and their employees in the event of an emergency.
The recent updates enhance ActivPoint's ability to help businesses fulfill their duty of care obligations and mitigate global hazards that could interrupt operations or put their travelers at risk. NC4 understands that businesses depend on the ability to know where their employees are and keep them safe from harm. The app's improved performance, enhanced privacy settings and more flexible communication features reinforce ActivPoint as the right tool for businesses that want a user-friendly and efficient way to keep their employees connected to corporate headquarters in case of an emergency.
