Knights of Columbus Statement on 50th Anniversary of President Kennedy's Assassination
NEW HAVEN, Conn., Nov. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Following is the statement of Supreme Knight Carl Anderson on the 50th Anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy.
"On this day, 50 years ago, the country lost its president, the first family lost its father and husband, and the Knights of Columbus lost a brother Knight. Today, we remember President Kennedy in prayer. He was a man of faith who left an important legacy. As we recall his life, we encourage our fellow Americans and our elected leaders to remember and embrace Kennedy's vision of our country as one where the role of service to our neighbor has an important place and where our rights are absolute, coming 'not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.'"
