NEW YORK, June 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Top Dog Education and Knewton have launched two adaptive learning products now available for grades 4-12 students across South Africa. Top Dog Math and Top Dog Science deliver individualized instruction based on analysis of what a student knows, how she learns, and her stated learning goals.
"Empowering students to reach their full potential is core to the Top Dog Education mission," said Claudia Swartzberg and Ryan Swartzberg of Top Dog Education. "By providing lessons tailored to each person's unique needs, we're helping students achieve their short-term goals and develop a long-term love of learning."
The Knewton-powered Top Dog products are designed as supplemental study tools that help students master key concepts for in-classroom assignments and prepare for tests.
"One-size-fits-all educational materials no longer cut it," said Jose Ferreira, founder and CEO of Knewton, who was born in Johannesburg and emigrated to America when young. "Adaptive learning is the model for the future, and Knewton is delivering on that promise today around the world."
The Knewton - Top Dog Education partnership was originally announced in October 2015, and the two companies continue to work together on product enhancements and extensions that will roll out in the coming months. Initially, Top Dog and Knewton are targeting to reach 1.2m students in the private and public school space. Together, the companies also intend to reach students across Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. This is Knewton's first partnership and product launch on the African continent.
