NEW YORK, June 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Knewton and Z-kai (part of Zoshinkai Publishers Inc.) are introducing Adaptie, developed and sold by Z-kai CA Inc., an adaptive English language course that helps college students and working professionals in Japan improve their scores on the TOEIC exam, a widely used measure of proficiency in business English.
Developed using Knewton's leading adaptive learning technology and Z-kai's proven content, Adaptie delivers individualized instruction and assessment based on analysis of what a student knows, how she learns, and her stated learning goals.
"Performance on the TOEIC exam is an important benchmark, and Adaptie is the only prep course that tailors study recommendations based on individual needs," said Takaaki Fujii, president and CEO of Z-kai. "By teaming with Knewton to bring this product to life, we are offering unprecedented personalization that will greatly benefit our customers."
In 2015, 2.5 million people in Japan took the TOEIC exam, and that number grows about five percent each year. Adaptie is now available for both individual consumers as well as corporations interested in providing test prep for their employees. Z-kai already works closely with a number of Japanese companies committed to helping their employees improve language skills and test scores. Now companies can see the added benefit of leveraging adaptive instruction.
"Adaptive learning is fundamentally changing education – around the world, across subject matters, for students of all ages," said Jose Ferreira, founder and CEO of Knewton. "Products such as Adaptie dramatically improve outcomes and set a new standard in the industry."
The Knewton–Z-kai partnership was originally announced in July 2015, and the two companies continue to work together on product enhancements and extensions that will roll out in the coming months.
