KLM Announces Pop Up In San Francisco
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines unveils interactive pop up to showcase leading service and offer the opportunity to win trips to Amsterdam
NEW YORK, Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines invites all travelers to come learn more about the airline and experience its innovative and customer-centric approach to service and design at a special pop up in San Francisco's Union Square. The KLM Pop Up will showcase the airline's leading amenities and service by offering visitors the opportunity to experience the World Business Class, a virtual reality simulation of the KLM Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and the chance to win roundtrip tickets to Amsterdam. The pop up will be open October 14-22, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 445A Sutter Street.
"The KLM Pop Up embodies the helpful, friendly, and innovative values of the airline, bringing to life the high standards of customer service KLM is committed to offering across all passenger touch points," said Eric Caron, Vice President and General Manager, Air France-KLM USA. "The Bay Area and West Coast are important and rapidly growing markets for the company, and we look forward to animating how KLM design and digital innovation offers our passengers best-in-class service and travel experience."
Visitors of the pop up will have the opportunity to earn up to five entries for KLM ticket giveaways with an RFID bracelet that allows them to check in at five interactive stations throughout the pop up. Each station highlights signature KLM features including: 24/7 social servicing, sustainability, vast global network and best-in-class products. Visitors will also be able to relax in a lounge and enjoy coffee and Dutch stroopwafels on special days. Parents are invited to bring their kids to enjoy a Kid's Corner featuring games and KLM's cartoon plane mascot Bluey.
Starting October 10th, San Franciscans can also be on the lookout for KLM throughout the city with the launch of a Helpvertising campaign that will include free water bottle distribution, KLM crossing guards and billboards that help people take a great selfie or even find their lost pets. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness of KLM's focus on customer service and how much KLM cares about its customers.
KLM, the world's oldest airline still operating under the same name, is the definitive leader in social servicing and sustainability. Recently, KLM became the world's first airline to offer full customer service on Facebook Messenger and launched bio-fuel flights from Los Angeles to Amsterdam. KLM offers daily direct flights between San Francisco and Amsterdam and recently added more capacity to the route in May with the addition of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. KLM currently services eight gateways from the United States to Amsterdam, and will introduce service from Miami on November 1, 2016.
