BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Feb. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest dishwasher from KitchenAid, the industry's top performing dishwasher brand, combines the premium features of other top KitchenAid models with a sleek, new twist. Among other innovative design elements, the new model features a tinted, exterior window with lighted interior that illuminates upon completion of the washing cycle.
"The integration of a window with lighted interior makes for a dramatic design statement and provides the assurance of seeing that dishes are sparkling prior to removal," said Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid. "Beyond its striking visual design features, this new model maintains a quiet home environment and provides the versatility to clean everything from glassware and utensils to deep dishes and large serving platters."
Performance Features
The new dishwasher features a dynamic wash arm, comprised of nine wash arms in one, for better soaking and scrubbing of dishes, and complete water coverage throughout the dishwasher. An exclusive Clean Water Wash System continuously removes food particles from the wash water for superior performance, even with the heaviest loads, by using a stainless steel, maintenance-free filter. All dishwashers in the collection feature a simple, one-touch ProWash™ Cycle that automatically selects the best cleaning setting based on soil levels. For extra tough, stuck-on-messes, a ProScrub™ Cycle uses 40 targeted spray jets that help remove food residue, and a ProScrub™ Upper feature provides two dedicated spray zones in the upper rack, for additional scrubbing power.
Once dishes are clean, the Advanced ProDry™ System uses a recessed heating element, vents and fans to optimize drying. Combined with a Heat Dry Option, dishes are sure to be dry by the end of the cycle without the use of rinse aid. Additional cycles include an Express Wash setting that washes dishes in a shorter cycle time, regardless of the soil level.
Interior Features
Located on the upper rack of the dishwasher, a new bottle wash feature provides a high-powered, concentrated spray wash for items such as bottles, vases and deep or odd-shaped dishes. The four dedicated spray nozzles are adjustable and can be bent to accommodate a wide range of bottle and dish sizes.
Adjustable shelving on both sides of the upper rack feature indents for securing stemware and can be folded down to provide extra space for cups, wineglasses or longer items like utensils and spatulas. The lower rack features sliding tines that can be adjusted from left to right to accommodate large, deep dishes with a wide setting, or smaller items with a narrow setting. Both racks feature SatinGlide® Max Rails with dual channels and dual ball bearings allow for smooth and seamless movement of the racks, even when they are fully stacked and loaded.
The newest model is ENERGY STAR® qualified and offers a quiet performance sound of 44dBa thanks to a built-in sound insulation system that includes sound dampening components to help maintain a quiet home environment. The inner tub is made of stainless steel to help withstand the test of time by resisting streaks, stains, and odors.
Exterior Features
New exterior design elements include a door window with a chrome inlaid frame and features interior lighting that appears through the window when the dishwasher cycle is complete, notifying cooks that dishes are clean. Precision Touch Controls provide a seamless, easy-to-use look and feel, and Satin Textured Handles, inspired by professional-grade kitchen appliances, feature a satin cross-hatch texture with a secure, no-slip grip. The new models with window will be available in January in stainless steel, with suggested retail price of $2,049.
