With over 24 years of experience representing clients, Kirk J. Retz practices in the area of construction law, real estate, and business law while handling both transactional and litigation matters. Working with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and contractors, Mr. Retz advises clients on many issues in the construction industry including land acquisition, contract creation and negotiation, the permit process, liens, governmental work, and energy generating projects.  Working for 10 years in the construction industry previous to his legal work, Mr. Retz supervised and managed construction crews, negotiated contracts, and was responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and completion of construction projects; this knowledge has bolstered his legal expertise in a very practical way.

Throughout the course of his education and training, Mr. Retz graduated from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1993 where he received his Juris Doctor degree.  Previous to that, Mr. Retz graduated from California State University, Northridge and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989.

As well as being approved by the American Bar Association to practice law, Mr. Retz also holds certificates as a Building Systems Technician and Building Systems Administrator.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Retz volunteers his time with the community. He is on the Board of Managers for the Torrance-South Bay YMCA and the Gift Planning Council for Loyola Marymount. Mr. Retz is also the Chair of the Bond Oversite Committee for El Camino Community College and is on the Parks and Activities Commission for the City of Rolling Hills Estates.
