Johnson will lead the specialty chemical company's global human resources function with responsibility for talent, compensation, benefits and employee development. She has served in numerous management and leadership roles during her 20-plus-year career at FMC. Johnson held research, HR and communications manager positions in FMC Agricultural Products before being named FMC HR director for China and the Asia region. Her most recent assignment was director of Global Talent Management.
"Kym brings unique capabilities and experience to this important role," said Pierre Brondeau, FMC president, CEO and chairman of the board. "As our company continues to expand around the world, Kym's global perspective will be crucial as we build the right systems, processes, and HR structure to support a growing, diverse talent base. I look forward to working with her as we continue on FMC's Vision 2015 journey."
Brondeau praised Garrett for his lasting contributions to FMC.
"Ken has been an exceptional leader of our company, always ensuring that the voices of employees were well represented in company strategies and policies," Brondeau said. "But his impact and influence on FMC's success extends beyond HR. He led our Corporate Communications group for many years, and was instrumental in creating the organizational structure of FMC Corporation following the split of the chemicals and machinery businesses in 2001. We thank him for his service and leadership, and wish him a long, healthy and well-deserved retirement."
