Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Shoe Donation to Soles4Souls to be Distributed at After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles "Fab-Out Monday" Event Monday, January 25th from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in LA
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Soles4Souls is partnering with After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA) to distribute over 300 pairs of adidas and Kardashian Kollection shoes donated on behalf of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West to Los Angeles area at-risk students with the greatest of needs and the fewest of resources. The "Fab-Out Monday" event takes place on Monday, January 25, 2016 between 3:30 and 6 p.m. on the campus of Alliance-Gertz Ressler High School, located at 2023 S. Union Street, Los Angeles, CA 90007. The event also includes a chance for students to have their hair and makeup done by professional hair and makeup artists. Photographers will capture all the fun in a culminating photo shoot.
In early December 2015, Kim Kardashian West learned about 17-year-old Amelia Flores from Wichita, Kan., who was aiming to collect 2,000 pairs of shoes to support the non-profit Soles4Souls' mission. Kim was moved by Flores' story and took to Twitter to seek her out and commit to giving 1,000 pairs of shoes to help reach her goal.
Since then, Kim donated the 1,000 pairs to Soles4Souls provided by adidas and Kardashian Kollection on behalf of the West Family and is working with Amelia Flores to distribute to those in need in Los Angeles, Calif., Wichita, Kan. and New Orleans, La.
"We are grateful to Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West for the generous donation," says Soles4Souls CEO Buddy Teaster. "By identifying Amelia's work with Soles4Souls and leveraging her influence through social media, Kim has generated an incredible amount of awareness which has benefitted our efforts to help fight poverty and those in need."
"After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles is grateful and excited for this experience brought to our students and the collaborative efforts from our community partner Sole4Souls, the West Family, adidas, Kardashian Kollection and Amelia Flores," said Ana Campos, President and CEO of ASAS-LA. "Our students' after-school education is made up 100 percent through donations like this, and we're deeply touched and thankful for positive events like these happening in LA for our future leaders."
