DULUTH, Ga., July 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In just two weeks, the world will collectively tune into the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies, a national early childhood education franchise with three decades of experience, along with 835 students from 14 of its centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will gather on July 22 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to host their own summer Olympics – the 5th Annual Kids 'R' Kids Summer Olympics. The event will benefit the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC). The games will kick off at 9 a.m. with an opening ceremony and the National Anthem sung by patient Skyler Wicke. Students will compete in 10 different events for trophies and celebrate a successful fundraising event with a closing ceremony and check presentation to the hospital from the school raising the most money on behalf of the organization.

Last year, Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies in Dallas raised more than $17,000 for TSRHC. Since its inception, the annual event has donated nearly $30,000 to various charitable organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A check will be presented on July 22nd at the conclusion of the games.

The Kids 'R' Kids Summer Olympics will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in half of the AT&T Stadium. Following a check will be presented to TSRHC as part of the opening ceremony, students will participate in Camp Cowboys on the lawn, hosted by the Dallas Cowboys Football Academy. Current and past NFL players, as well as Dallas Cowboys players and Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, will play with kids and participate in a dance party. Starting at 11:15 a.m., kids will rotate through activity stations, including: High Jump, Bullseye, Soccer Shootout, Medley Relay, Javelin Throw, 50-Yard Dash, Dizzy Shot Put Throw, Hurdles Relay, Discus and Olympic Ring Toss. Schools will compete against one another and be judged on a point system. Trophies will be awarded at 1:20 p.m. as part of the closing ceremony.
