Kiddie Academy® Awards $25,000 in Scholarships During Weeklong Celebration of Kindness

ABINGDON, Md., Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate the achievement of enrolling 25,000 students across its national network of 210 Academies, Kiddie Academy^®, a leading provider of educational child care for over 37 years, recently awarded $25,000 in Academy tuition scholarships across 10 Kiddie Academy locations throughout the U.S. With kindness being a cornerstone of Kiddie Academy's Life Essentials^® curriculum, the company challenged its nationwide network of Academies to participate in an "Acts of Kindness" campaign, where students and families participated in and chronicled their own kind acts July 23-27 in an effort to be named one of 10 scholarship recipients.

Created with the goal to inspire Kiddie Academy students to perform acts of kindness toward their classmates, family, friends and community, the Acts of Kindness campaign resulted in hundreds of post photos and videos that embodied the theme of kindness and consideration to others.

The following 10 winning Academies showed creativity, empathy, compassion, and respect throughout the promotional week—all key facets of Character Education, a main component of Kiddie Academy's Life Essentials curriculum—and made a difference not only in the classroom but throughout entire communities. Each Academy received a $2,500 tuition scholarship to award to an enrolled student(s):

• Kiddie Academy of Wilmington, NC

In support of the nationwide kindness event, 40 employees based at Kiddie Academy headquarters in Abingdon, MD, participated in a community service day to benefit the Harford Family House (HFH), a nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing for homeless families with children and unaccompanied adults ages 18 to 24.
