The Latino Coalition Partners With the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to Support and Honor Small Business Leaders
WASHINGTON, May 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Latino Coalition (TLC), America's leading advocate for Latino-owned, small and medium-sized businesses, announces that its Small Business Summit will return to the Nation's Capitol May 23 - 25 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C.
To expand on the success of last spring's Economic Summit, TLC has partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to bring members to the 2011 America's Small Business Summit in Washington, D.C.
On Monday, May 23, 2011, in conjunction with the Summit, TLC will host B2B National Procurement Matchmaking, which will unite Summit attendees with procurement officers from government agencies and Fortune 500 companies to increase small business participation in future procurement opportunities.
"Through this nationwide program, we have helped to create over eight billion dollars in contracts for small businesses throughout the country," states Hector V. Barreto, TLC's Chairman and Former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (2001-2006). "A key constituency for the 2012 elections, the Latino business community is a driving force behind the economic recovery of our country, adding to the timeliness and value of this event," he added.
In addition to the procurement sessions, Summit attendees also receive legislative briefings from elected officials as well as workshop sessions that focus on key issues important to small business such as: newly available financing, risk management, legal reform, healthcare and international trade.
