Keymind Earns Distinguished CMMI-DEV Level 5
Among Elite 5% of CMMI-Compliant Organizations
FALLS CHURCH, Va., May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Keymind, a division of Axiom Resource Management, announces that it has been successfully appraised at the highest level, Maturity Level 5 version 1.3, of Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development© (CMMI-DEV). Keymind is one of the first U.S. small businesses to achieve this recognition and ranks within the top 5% of global organizations reporting CMMI 5 results.
CMMI was developed by a group of experts from industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. The CMMI-DEV is a process improvement approach to help organizations improve overall performance. CMMI guides software engineering and development best practices across a number of process areas, such as requirements, configuration, validation, technical solutions and analysis.
"Keymind's ranking as one of the first U.S. small businesses to achieve this recognition, demonstrates the company's commitment to excellence and provides clients and potential clients with the confidence that their work will be completed using unsurpassed methodologies and business practices," said Michele Shaw, a subject matter expert and member of the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) appraisal team from The Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering. "With Level 5 recognition you see strong correlations between a customer's business objectives and the delivery of elite, high quality work."
"This is a significant achievement and strong differentiator for Keymind and the Axiom organization," noted Shane Oleson, President of Keymind. "We are excited about the prospects that this will bring and pleased to be able to offer improved efficiency and quality assurance without increasing costs to our clients. With these processes in place our team can focus on delivering the best solutions and customer service, making our workday a lot more seamless and enjoyable."
CMMI-DEV has five maturity levels and with each level an organization becomes increasingly more efficient and productive and more able to effectively manage projects and organizational risks. To achieve Level 5 recognition, companies must show that they are successfully using data and statistical techniques to manage and monitor processes, projects, and the organization as a whole. Keymind has been using the CMM/CMMI to help define and refine its processes and methodology since 2004. To see Keymind's Published Appraisal Results visit: http://sas.sei.cmu.edu/pars/pars.aspx.
