NEW YORK, November 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Market Buzz Report, a free newsletters provider, issues critical stocks alert for NetApp Inc.(NASDAQ:NTAP), Riverbed Technology, Inc.(NASDAQ:RVBD), Petroleo Brasileiro Petrobras SA(NYSE:PBR), Goldman Sachs Group Inc(NYSE:GS), JPMorgan Chase & Co.(NYSE:JPM).
NetApp Inc.(NASDAQ:NTAP) expects FQ3 revenue of $1.575B-$1.675B and EPS of $0.68-$0.73, largely below a consensus of $1.69B and $0.73. The enterprise storage giant asserts it's gaining share, but also says it's facing "an ongoing uncertain macro environment."Revenue grew only 1% Y/Y in FQ2 after rising 5% in FQ1. Branded (non-OEM) revenue rose 5% vs. 9% in FQ1.However, with NetApp's numbers having come a month after EMC and IBM provided disappointing Q3 storage hardware figures, some bad news was priced in.$151M was spent on buybacks. That helped EPS beat consensus in spite of a revenue miss. Enterprise storage sales have been hurt by soft IT hardware spend, U.S. federal weakness, and the cannibalizing impact of cloud infrastructure services running on commodity hardware

Riverbed Technology, Inc.(NASDAQ:RVBD): It arrives less than a week after shares took off on news Elliott Associates and various affiliates had obtained a 10.4% stake in the company, while arguing Riverbed can "immediately increase stockholder value by implementing certain value-maximizing operational, capital structure and strategic review initiatives."

Petroleo Brasileiro Petrobras SA (NYSE:PBR) move to sell its business in Peru to China National Petroleum for $2.6B will take it one step closer to rebalancing its books; its debt is ~35% of the company's equity, which places it in danger of having its credit rating downgraded, NYT reports."To meet their fundraising goal, they had to make a big asset sale. This will give them some breathing room to focus on investments in Brazil," says an analyst at Grupo Bursatil Mexicano. While the deal is a positive for the company, asset sales are a way to cover for Petrobras' lack of cash generation caused by "misalignment" of prices, J.P. Morgan analysts say.

"No announcement yet," says co-CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co.(NYSE:JPM) Corporate and Investment Bank, Mike Cavanagh in a fireside chat (webcast) at the BofA financial services conference. Cavanagh was responding to an audience poll which showed 77% identifying a resolution to the bank's legal troubles as likely defining JPMorgan's prospects going into 2014.It's our priority to get this done, even if it means taking resources away from the bank's operations, but such deals are "complex."Talks have reportedly heated up again after nearly being scuttled a couple of weeks ago. Looking at Q4, Cavanagh tempers already weak fixed income expectations, noting last year's Q4 was particularly strong and this year has little chance of matching it.
