Kevin Harvick Inc. to Debut No. 2 Champion® Filters Chevrolet in Saturday's NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series Race
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) and four-time NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will debut the No. 2 Champion® Filters Chevrolet Silverado in Saturday's Smith's 350 Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The event marks the first official sponsorship for Federal-Mogul's (NASDAQ: FDML) innovative new Champion line of automotive oil and air filtration products.
The No. 2 truck will feature the "Performance Driven™" Champion brand's iconic red-and-black color scheme and "bow tie" logo along with images of a variety of Champion filters. The sponsorship is part of Federal-Mogul's extensive new relationship with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick, who is now the official spokesperson for the Champion brand's globally respected line of spark plugs, as well as Champion wiper blades, performance chemical additives and filters.
"The Champion brand has won thousands of races covering nearly every form of motorsport, but this is the first sponsorship for our exciting new line of automotive filtration products," said Michael Proud, marketing director, North America, Federal-Mogul. "Kevin, KHI and Ron Hornaday are excellent representatives of our brand and the world-class technologies featured in every Champion product."
Champion filters are available now for a full range of today's passenger car applications.
Champion oil filters help provide optimal engine protection and longer service life through substantially higher multi-pass capacity and efficiency than comparably priced filters from other suppliers. Champion air filters help provide optimal flow and maximum engine performance and fuel efficiency through a world-class filtration design that removes 98 percent of air contaminants.
With five Truck Series races remaining in the 2011 schedule, the No. 2 Champion Chevrolet Silverado has a 41-point lead in the battle for the Owner's Championship, while Hornaday stands fifth in driver points. He won his 50th Truck Series race October 1 at Kentucky Speedway.
Saturday's race can be seen at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on SPEED.
