Kevin B Sears, Nationally Recognized Managed Care and Population Health Expert Joins BDC Advisors, LLC., as Director

MIAMI, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Rick Wesslund, founder and Chairman of BDC Advisors, LLC, the healthcare strategy consulting firm, announced today that Kevin B. Sears (http://www.bdcadvisors.com/about/our-team/) a nationally known managed care and population health expert, who most recently had led the Cleveland Clinic's managed care operations and insurance initiatives, had joined the firm as a Director.

Wesslund said that Sears would help lead the firm's payer and provider innovation practice. He will focus on growing BDC's "next generation" managed care business strategy and product development work, insurance and payer operations, and Medicare Advantage organization and product development. Prior to becoming as BDC Director, Mr. Sears served as Executive Director of Market & Network Services for the Cleveland Clinic where he held executive level accountability and signature authority for the Clinic's top line revenue in the U.S., and Europe, and the Mid-East. He launched the Cleveland Clinic's first three health insurance initiatives with Oscar Health, Anthem, and Humana, and developed a comprehensive strategic pricing and renegotiation strategy for the overall Clinic enterprise, and co-led the Clinics 106,000 member ACO which was ranked #1 in the nation for quality and efficiency during its first year's operation. Prior to the Clinic, he served as a Senior Vice President, Payer Strategy & Product Development of Trinity Health Inc., the nation's second largest non-profit health system, where he led the contracting, product development, medical economics and functions across the 22-state Trinity enterprise. He has also helped to lead managed care operations for Intermountain Health, as well as working in executive roles at health plans such as Coventry Health and The Centene Corporation.
