Kerry Biggs of GCT Global Container Terminals is Elected Chairman of the Association for Financial Professionals of Canada

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Kerry Biggs, Treasurer of GCT Global Container Terminals in Vancouver, has been appointed Chairman of the AFP of Canada Board of Directors. He was elected by the AFP of Canada membership this month to serve a two-year term.
As Treasurer at GCT, Kerry is responsible for executing treasury and related finance activities, including overseeing risk management, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, tax planning and project assessment and valuation. He has been a speaker at several AFP Annual Conferences and is currently Chairman of the Society of Canadian Treasurers. Kerry has been a member of AFP since 2002. Before joining GCT, he was with Finning International, Inc. and Enbridge, Inc.

Joining Biggs on the AFP of Canada Board as a new Vice Chairman is Alberto Nunez, CTP, CMA, who is Treasurer at IAMGOLD Corp. in Toronto, where he is responsible for corporate finance, bank relationships, investment management, financial risk management and insurance management. He has been a member of AFP of Canada and the Society of Canadian Treasurers since 2005.
Robert Key, CTP (CD), CMA, CFA, Director of Treasury Operations at Research In Motion Limited in Waterloo, Ontario, has been elected Director of AFP of Canada. He has been a member of AFP of Canada for the past five years and the Society of Canadian Treasurers since 2009.
Robert Stanley, Treasurer at Samuel, Son & Co. Limited, will continue to serve on the AFP of Canada Board as Past Chairman.
