Kentz Appoints Executive Vice President
HOUSTON, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Kentz Corporation Limited (LSE: KENZ), the holding company of the Kentz engineering and construction group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Lichon, as Executive Vice President for the Construction and Technical Support Services (TSS) Business Units.
This new role within Kentz builds on the business unit re-alignment announced earlier this year and co-ordinates the regional construction and TSS operations, reporting into Group President, Construction and TSS, Mike Murphy.
Joe joins the Kentz team from CB&I, one of the most complete energy infrastructure focused companies in the world, where he has progressed through a number of senior management roles, most recently to Vice President of Sales for the Americas. During his time with CB&I, Joe has held senior roles with global account responsibility for ExxonMobil and Chevron, and operational responsibility for the Asia Pacific and Australia region.
Joe originally joined CB&I in 1990 and spent a decade moving up through the engineering field, before moving towards business development. Following an eight year period with Fluor from 2000, holding both senior business development and operational roles, he returned to CB&I in 2008.
Mike Murphy, Group President, Construction and TSS Business Units, commented: "The re-alignment of certain services within our business units was undertaken to build on our provision of service to clients and to simplify our organisational structure, so we can continue to deliver the same high standards as we pursue our growth strategy.
"Kentz now has a backlog of over US$4 billion, and the ability to be able to attract senior executives such as Joe is a key acknowledgement of our position in the industry. Joe brings considerable operational and sales experience, and has managed some of the world's largest energy engineering projects alongside commercial relationships with leading global energy companies. I would like to welcome Joe to the team and we look forward to providing further updates as we continue to underpin our business units."
Information on the re-alignment of Kentz's business units (announced February 2014):
Following the implementation of Kentz's six strategic initiatives identified in 2012 and the acquisition of Valerus Field Solutions, the Group re-examined the structure of its global business units. All of the services offered by Kentz to clients remain and have been strengthened through the re-alignment of a number of service offerings within the current business units; bringing operational benefits in servicing clients, such as access to wider resource pools with shared skills, and building critical mass in core areas.
The EPC business unit has been renamed Engineering and Projects and will be managed by Tush Doshi as Group President, Engineering and Projects Business Unit. Mike Murphy, previously Chief Operating Officer, TSS business unit, has now taken up the position of Group President, Construction and TSS Business Units.
