SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenna Security, a leader in predictive cyber risk, announced today that information security industry veteran Jonathan Cran has joined the company as Head of Research, supporting and strengthening Kenna's emphasis on a data driven approach to cyber risk management.
In this new role at Kenna, Cran will be building a team to drive new sources of asset, vulnerability, and threat and exploit intelligence into the Kenna platform and enhancing Kenna's ability to deliver powerful, predictive insight to its customers.
"Data science and analytics are central to Kenna's approach to predictive cyber risk. The speed, complexity, and volume of security data that must be analyzed to marshal an effective defense overwhelms human capacity. Kenna tracks bad actor behavior in real-time, prioritizes the risks, and delivers remedies that keep organizations steps ahead of attackers," said Karim Toubba, CEO at Kenna Security. "Jonathan's expertise and experience will add to Kenna's deep bench of technical experts and innovative thinkers."
Cran comes to Kenna with more than 15 years of experience as a security product and services leader with a track record of strong execution. Most recently he was the Vice President of Operations and Product for Bugcrowd, where he pioneered the space and oversaw the growth of a community of over 70,000 security researchers. Prior to his role at Bugcrowd, Cran served in leadership roles for organizations such as Rapid7 and Pwnie Express and has also served as a technical leader for key open source projects such as Metasploit and Intrigue.
"Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work on many aspects of cyber risk," said Jonathan Cran, Head of Research at Kenna Security. "Kenna is pioneering the future of risk and vulnerability management with its data driven approach. The opportunity to join the Kenna team and help drive the transformation into predictive cyber risk is incredibly exciting."
