Kendall-Jackson Redefines the Tasting Experience with Partake by K-J
The new Healdsburg destination promises innovative exploration of wine and food at the table
HEALDSBURG, Calif, March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kendall-Jackson, one of America's most beloved family-owned wineries, today announced the opening of Partake by K-J, located just steps from the square in Healdsburg, an iconic wine country destination. Slated to open March 25th, Partake by K-J is an eatery and tasting lounge specializing in wine flights and seasonal bites featuring ingredients from the winery's organic gardens and Sonoma County's culinary artisans. Offering a range of curated food and wine experiences, as well as a la carte options, the concept celebrates the region's abundance of diversity and flavor, and time spent at the table with family and friends.
"Partake by K-J offers innovative pairings inspired by the handcrafted wines of Kendall-Jackson," said Kendall-Jackson Executive Chef Justin Wangler. "Our wine-driven Bites & Flights menu is a collaborative effort between our culinary team and winemakers to carefully match the flavors, texture and weight of each dish with our wines. We hope to elevate expectations of what a winery tasting experience can be."
The name Partake invites guests to immerse themselves in the expertly crafted wine and food experiences designed to satisfy the curious and thirsty. Organic vegetables, fruits and herbs from the winery's acclaimed gardens and orchards take center stage on the menu. The enticing Sonoma County culinary focus includes estate-grown olive and grapeseed oils with breads made from grapeskin flours as well as small plates of artisan cheeses, fresh produce from the garden and sustainably-raised meats.
The sophisticated and inviting space spans two rooms with seating for 55 guests: The Flight Club offers guided wine and food flights, while the Lounge has seasonal a la carte food and wine items that encourage guests to pick and choose from the menu. Spring menu highlights include green garlic Panna Cotta with Dungeness crab and Meyer lemon salad paired with Kendall-Jackson Highland Estates Camelot Chardonnay and hand-cut fries soaked in Cabernet Sauvignon paired with Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. A special emphasis on wine education, a hallmark of the Kendall-Jackson experience, will provide classes and seminars on topics ranging from how wine is made to selecting the right glass for a specific wine.
"Partake will be a destination that reflects the Jackson family's passion for great wine and the culinary arts—it's rooted in the family's 30-year history of calling Sonoma County home," said Kendall-Jackson Winemaster Randy Ullom. "Guests will discover the extraordinary affinity of K-J wines with food in a welcoming place to sit down and relax, just as someone would at a favorite restaurant."
Partake by K-J is located at 241 Healdsburg Ave. in Healdsburg. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. May through October, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. November through April, seven days a week, excluding major holidays. Reservations are suggested and can be made at [email protected] or visit partakebykj.com.
