Currently, Krieg runs Samford Global Strategies, a consulting practice he founded which focuses on helping clients through periods of strategic change. He previously served from 2005 to 2007 as under secretary of defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, and as special assistant to the Secretary of Defense and director for Program Analysis & Evaluation. Before joining the DOD, Krieg worked for International Paper for 11 years, and also held a number of defense and foreign policy positions, including posts at the White House, on the National Security Council, and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
Krieg earned a B.A. in history at Davidson College and a Masters in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
