Ken Fields Supports the Sanders Merkley Bill As a Transitional Roadmap to Renewable Energy
NEW YORK, May 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Businessman, Entrepreneur and environmental advocate Ken Fields (www.kenfields.net) voices his support for the recent bill, nicknamed the "100 By 50 Act," that was introduced by Senators Bernie Sanders and Jeff Merkley, which provides a roadmap for the United States transition to 100 Percent Renewable energy by 2050.
"The current administration in the white house and the Republican majorities in both houses of congress have willfully ignored or are simply not interested in addressing the very real environmental catastrophe that our reliance on burning fossil fuels is causing to the planet." Fields continued, "Given the current politics in Washington it seems that the Merkley Sanders bill isn't likely to go very far, but it's a bold first step and everyone who wants clean water to drink, fresh air to breathe and a habitable planet for future generations needs to lend their support and encouragement to Sanders and Merkley's efforts. We need to call our local representatives, write letters, continue to march in the streets, protest and otherwise do everything we can to really drive this issue home. It feels clichéd to say it, but there is no Planet B."
The 100 By 50 Act was announced by Jeff Merkley and Bernie Sanders just prior to this past weekend's Climate March.
