KEMET Introduces Eight New Film Capacitor Products at Electronica 2010
GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- KEMET Corporation (NYSE Amex: KEM), a leading manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminum, film, paper and electrolytic capacitors, today announced eight new film capacitors products for EMI suppression, pulse and AC circuits, and coupling/decoupling. Designed with the latest in manufacturing and material technology, these new solutions offer higher performance in smaller sizes. KEMET will be showcasing the new film products at Electronica 2010 in Munich, Germany.
"As a result of a global development effort, we are able to offer these innovative KEMET film capacitors with significant benefits for the power supply, industrial, lighting and automotive markets," said Dr. Daniel Persico, KEMET Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Business Development. "The release of these eight new products is a significant milestone in the achievement of our One KEMET goals."
KEMET's newly-released film capacitors include the following:
- Five new safety agency approved EMI capacitors (X and Y capacitors), covering all common voltages up to 760VAC. The capacitance range is significantly extended for each pitch, allowing for the reduced footprint often demanded by modern power supplies.
- Two new metallized polyester coupling/decoupling capacitors covering a broad range of both wound and stacked technology. With a 125 degrees C temperature rating, one series is suitable for automotive and other demanding applications.
- A new pulse and AC capacitor series in metallized polypropylene, offering an excellent range of capacitance and voltage with increased pulse handling capabilities.
