Art + Fashion + Music. Located at 340 N. Beverly Drive, The event will celebrate the visual artistic side of top Buddah Bar producer & "Amor, Amor" composer, Arno Elias' as he presents the "Escape with Me" Iconic art series with special guest artist Stephen Verona, who People Magazine labeled "The father of music video and a modern day renaissance man." Verona will unveil his new work "Andy in a Soup Can" along with a Fashion Show by Celebrity Designer Maggie Coulombe of Maui, featuring the hair design of Christophe Salon and music by DJ Leticia Leisman. The evening benefits the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education programs in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education. Since 1997, VH1 Save The Music has provided $48 million worth of new musical instruments, donated to more than 1,800 public schools in more than 100 cities around the country, impacting the lives of more than 1.8 million public school students.
Arno Elias, Paris, NYC, Miami and now Los Angeles. This multi talented world artist blurs the line of the visual, music, global art scene with a new vibe for the senses. An award winning gold record producer, with Universal Records in France, Elias became world renowned for producing and composing the top selling BUDDHA BAR album and the famous song "Amor, Amor" from Nino. Working with a narration of famous artist such as Latin Rock star Shakira, he created the score for the video and the PSA for UNICEF's worldwide campaign. Stephen Verona has won over 100 awards for his work. At Mouche Gallery, Mr. Verona will unveil a special large format edition of 'Warhol in a soup can.' Verona directed the first two music videos for The Beatles, then went on to direct videos for Barbra Streisand, Simon & Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, Liza Minelli, Mick Fleetwood, Boy George, Santana and hundreds of other world renown recording artists. By the time he was 27 he was nominated for an Academy Award for his live action short film "The Rehearsal." Verona also wrote, produced and co-directed the feature film, "The Lords of Flatbush" launching the careers of Sylvester Stallone, Henry Winkler, and Richard Gere, all discovered by Verona. In 2008, the Getty Museum acquired his photography for their permanent collection, then, in 2009, he was among the top 224 artists from around the world, as recognized by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI in the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican for his address to artists.
Maggie Coulombe, who designs off the beaten path in Maui, is inspired by the natural beauty of the women and its shore, which has led to a collection that accents the essence of women all around the globe. Coulombe has styled celebrities on and off the red carpet, including Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Halle Berry, Teri Hatcher, and Lindsey Lohan to name a few. Fashionistas from as far as Dubai, Russia, China, Tokyo, and London frequent the Maggie Coulombe Store, created in 2000.
