Keep America Beautiful Rallies Grassroots for Great American Cleanup "National Day of Action" on April 28
Country's Largest Community Improvement Movement Spotlights 10 Cities
STAMFORD, Conn., April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Keep America Beautiful (KAB), the nation's largest volunteer-based community improvement organization with over 1,200 local affiliates and participating organizations, will provide a national platform for local volunteer initiatives with its first-ever "National Day of Action," to be held on Saturday, April 28.
Activities will be taking place in nearly all 50 states, with special events planned in 10 locations, including Oakland, Calif., Los Angeles, Cocoa, Fla., Indianapolis, Cobb County, Ga., Hampton Roads, Va., Houston, Shreveport, La., Philadelphia and Nashville. Each of these locations will lead large-scale cleanups and other coordinated events with community impact. Volunteers will clean up litter and illegal dumpsites, host recycling events, paint out graffiti, and plant thousands of flowers, plants and trees.
